BBQ REPORT 12th August 2016
This was a very successful day for the Club. In fact it was our best yet. A big Thank you Alan, Mara, Noel, Erik, Grahame and Paul —extra points to Erik for volunteering on his day off also his speedy service showed the rest of us up a bit –maybe it has something to do with age????
Bunnings were very pleased with us as Grahame (our own home handyman) managed to repair the Annexe we worked out of — it was missing a screw and was starting to pull apart in the wind. Liz at Bunnings was very impressed with the club’s (Grahame’s) initiative. Thanks also to Grahame for getting the extra sausages when we ran out— approx. 33kg was a record for us!
With 4 more BUNNINGS BBQ dates to go we can look forward to approximately another $ 2500 – $3000 towards the National Bottle Show.
The big challenge is for us to back up again next Tuesday. There are still some gaps in the following dates after Tuesday, if you can help or you know someone who can please let me know – info@geelongbottleandcollectables.club
BBQ REPORT 23rd AUGUST 2016
A very brief report on todays BBQ. Results were again very satisfactory we think that this yet again shows that the weekdays (even Tuesdays) are worthwhile for our club
The financials were as follows
TOTAL SALES $942.45
EXPENSES $248.00 PROFIT $694.45
This profit was obtained with sales of approx. 30 kg of sausages 22 Loaves of bread and 10kg of onions. Trade throughout the day was very steady with very little respite from about 11.45 onwards.
Thanks are due again to Alan, Noel ,Mara ,David, Grahame and Paul
Our new cash box did make giving out change a little easier (this was a donation to the club from Pat B who worked on the BBQ last week). The new eskies were ”mickey mouse” —thanks to Cam and Alan for finding them on special at “RAYS” They should get much use from the club in the warmer months and also at the National Bottle Show. We are now pretty well set up for running the BBQ’s.
There were a number of enquiries about the National Bottle Show and the handouts that Cam and David provided were used to good effect.
Less than a month now until our club Market day. Space is really filling up and this promises to be a really good event. There will be a little something for everyone.
Also if you have somewhere to post flyers or friends who you think might like this sort of thing there are some pdfs attached below to print and distribute. Any and all help promoting this day will be greatly appreciated!
Going back in time just a bit here but this is the pre and post February meeting posts from Club President David Smith.
Post Meeting Note:
What a great meeting with plenty of members there.
Fantastic latest finds and displays and a lot discussed especially concerning the next market day (May 28th) and of course the National and the search for sponsors and funds!
Easter Monday March 28th is our AGM and we need a secretary to replace Cam who has done a great job.
Thanks Cam.
Fortunately he will continue as Newsletter Editor producing the great newsletters we all enjoy
You will be asked to choose whether to receive newsletters by email or not and pay fees by EFT if you wish.

On Monday night the big reveal of the tenders received for the five donated bottles took place.
These bottles were generously donated by club member Stan Bee as a way to raise funds for the National Show in October (21st to 23rd – get in touch for more details!!). In the final analysis 3 of the 5 bottles were sold:
Bottle 1: P. Mathews Lamont, a $40 tender was accepted.
Bottle 2: Christmas Tree Salad Oil, no offer accepted.
Bottle 3: Charles Cole Torpedo, $75 tender accepted (note this bottle ended up with a little bruise after being handled at one of the shows!)
Bottle 4: Bayldon & Graham Torpedo, no offer accepted.
Bottle 5: Mathews & Howey early square collar Torpedo, $290 offer accepted.
So a great result for the club with $405 raised. The two unsold bottles will be used for future raffles. Watch this space!
